There were 5,600 grants of out of country BN(O) visas made in Q1 of 2021, of which 3,600 were for main applicants and 2,000 were for dependants. There were 1,600 grants of in country BN(O) visas made in Q1 of 2021, of which 1,200 were main applicants and 400 were dependants.

As expected, the majority of grants (86%) were to BN(O) and/or Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport holders. Dependants holding passports for countries other than HKSAR accounted for 41% of grants to dependants.

There were 29,400 grants of out of country BN(O) visas made in Q2 of 2021, of which 16,700 were for main applicants and 12,700 were for dependants. There were 10,700 grants of in country BN(O) visas made in Q2 of 2021, of which 6,400 were main applicants and 4,300 were dependants. There have been a total of 35,000 grants of out of country BN(O) visas made between 31st January to 30th June 2021, and a total of 12,300 grants of in country BN(O) visas made between 31st January to 30th June 2021.

As expected, the majority of grants (68%) were to BN(O) and/or Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport holders. Dependants holding passports for countries other than HKSAR accounted for 70% of grants to dependants, including 67% who held Chinese passports.

There were 22,404 grants of out of country BN(O) visas made in Q3 of 2021, of which 13,225 were for main applicants and 9,179 were for dependants. There were 6,494 grants of in country BN(O) visas made in Q3 of 2021, of which 3,571 were main applicants and 2,923 were dependants. There have been a total of 57,361 grants of out of country BN(O) visas made between 31st January to 30th September 2021, and a total of 18,815 grants of in country BN(O) visas made between 31st January to 30th September 2021.

As expected, the majority of grants (63%) were to BN(O) and/or Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport holders. Dependants holding passports for countries other than BN(O) and/or HKSAR accounted for 77% of grants to dependants, including 75% who held Chinese passports.
